Hi!

If a = -5, -a = 5

So our equation is...

[tex] 5^{-2} [/tex]

When you use a negative exponents, it tells you how many times to divide by the number.

1 ÷ 5 ÷ 5 = 0.04

The answer is 0.04

Hope this helps! :)
