Given 15/p = 20/8, the first thing I'd do would be to reduce the fraction on the right, altho' this is not mandatory.

Then: 15/p = 5/2, or

15 5

----- = -----

p 2

Cross multiplying, we get 5p = 30, which results in p = 6 (answer)
