What is the role of scientific research in solving human health problems

The function of scientific research in solving issues of human health differs on the basis of what field one is studying. As it can aim at the diagnosis, causes, or treatments of the condition.  

If one is looking at the causes, science will assist in focusing on what the issue actually is. At the same time, science can also assist to find the best treatments. Once one can find a cause, one can even figure out the best treatment for it.
