2x +8=2(x + 4)

mutiply the bracket by 2

(2)(x)= 2x

(2)(4)= 8

2x+8= 2x+8

move 2x to the left side

sign changes from +2x to -2x

2x-2x+8= 2x-2x+8

0+8= 0+8
