Restorative justice is a new concept in South African legal landscape. Explain briefly what its intentions are in the process of human rights violations.

Restorative justice focuses on the compensation of the wrongdoing for the victim.

I think that the intentions behind the restorative justice are to avoid the vicious cycle of violence, if people feel that their suffering has been compensated for, they are less likely  to seek revenge themselves.
