Mud bricks were used to make buildings in Mesopotamia. The buildings in the city-states were mainly clustered around a temple and were made from mud bricks held together by reeds. The cities were structured so that the most densely populated area would be near the middle where the temple was and it had small narrow lanes of buildings.
