The slope of the parallel line should be the same slope as 5x + 7y = -2
5x + 7y = -2
7y = -5x - 2
y = (-5/7)x - (2/7)
slope of the parallel line is (-5/7)

slope of the perpendicular line will be negative and reciprocal to the perpendicular line.
this would be 7/5
