Nucleic acids - macromolecules containing hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen,

carbon and phosphorus and are associated with organism's genetic code.

Monomer (single) units of nucleic acids are called nucleotides. One

nucleotide consists of a 5-carbon sugar , a phosphate group and a nitrogen

base.
