To calculate for the number of grams of the solute in the solution, we need to have data in the molar mass of the solute. We calculate as follows:

Number of moles of solute: 0.159 mol KOH / L (.500 L) = 0.0795 mol KOH
Mass: 0.0795 mol KOH (56.11 g / mol ) = 4.46 g KOH
