Answer:

Proper punctuation and grammar is essential to the flow of the passage. If a reading is choppy, it can take away from the meaning of it along with its information it's trying to spread. Not having proper punctuation or grammar makes a reader pause in reading to try to understand what the author is saying and makes them agitated and confused on what the purpose of the passage was.
