Answer:

The Kansas-Nebraska Act created two new territories that would let the people vote on whether they would be slave or free states. When news of this got out, people on both sides rushed into these territories to try and sway the vote toward their side. This caused violence to break out, which led to the "Bleeding Kansas" incident.
