Vertex Form: y = a(x - h)^2 + k

Vertex = (h, k)

y + 5 = -2(x - 1)^2

y = -2(x - 1)^2 - 5

Whatever is in the parenthesis, use the opposite sign. Whatever is outside of the parenthesis, use the same sign.

Vertex = (1, -5)

Hope this helps!! :)
