In my opinion I think that the theme is saying when you get older a (adult) there are more challenges to life than it is for a kid. This is because as an adult you have more bills to pay so you can have a house so which means you are going to have to work. Also if you have a child you have to have enough resposibility to take care of the child and feed he/her.
