So we want to know the number from which we take 65% and get 39. If the number we are looking for is x, then the equation to find that x would be: (65/100)*x=39 which says sixty five percent out of x is equal 39. So, x=(39*100)/65. And finally, x= 3900/65=60. So, 65% out of 60 is 39.
