4x+5y= −2 (a)
4x+3y= 10 (b)
Solve by elimination: multiply (a) by - 1:

-4x - 5y = + 2
 4x + 3y = 10, Now add both:
------------   ----
0x  - 2y   = 12  and y = - 6
Replace y by - 6 in any of the equations let's take a)  4x - 30 = -2
and x = 28/4 = 7

so x = 7 and y = -6
