I: 4x-9y-2=0
II: 12x-5y+38=0

start by eliminating x by multiplying the first equation by 3 and subtracting II:

3*(4x-9y-2)-(12-5y+38)=3*(0)-0
12x-27y-6-12x+5y-38=0
-22y-44=0
-44=22y
-2=y

-> insert y=-2 in I:

4x-9*(-2)-2=0
4x+18-2=0
4x+16=0
4x=-16
x=-4

so the solution is y=-2 and x=-4
